Security...

Today's blog is in Danish, sarcasm and irony is, I think, best expressed in my native language.

...for som sikkerhedschefen arrrrghh "Excecutive Manager Head of Frontline Security Whatever", udtaler;

Heroes...

What defines a hero?

I was provoked today, I often am – I know, I’m a grumpy old sob :-\

Today I saw a booklet with "Hero's", all of which was footballers.

They aren’t heroes!

Are they?

An over payed, (bad language), praying on naive spectators desire for entertainment, and supported by companies, who takes money off my pocket to pay for it?

Does that make a hero?

I resent that!

They are NOT heroes, at best stars in some people’s eyes they might be, from my point of view simple hustlers - but never ever heroes.

Being a hero in my book is someone striving to achieve a higher goal altruistically, with no regard for own richness, and / or safety.

It could be the "friend"
People who sacrifice their own well being to help a friend, or even a complete stranger, who is in a difficult, or dangerous situation, physically, or mental.

It could be the "wanderer".
People who, in search of life’s true meaning, travels the world, to find other ways of life, cultures, traditions, lives in isolation for days and wonder what’s behind the next hill, round the next corner, and in gimp’s have the goodness of sharing their thoughts and findings with the rest of us.

There is a lot of different types besides the above mentioned, and all too often we (Danes) do not appreciate their effort, and thank these real heroes.

Portraying a person who lives a sweet life, and enjoy his or her hobby on a professional basis, a hero, devalues the term in a fashion, which is a disgrace to real heroes, people whom in dire straits risk their life to help or save others.

To all you real heroes out there...
Thank you!

WikiLeaks

Freedom of Speech, gives you the right to express your opinion (whatever that might be)

Blowing 250.000 classified documents is not an opinion; it's just a criminal act.

The only justifiable reason to unveil classified documents, is when you reveal a potential criminal offence amongst civil servants or politicians

We do not need "private self-righteous internet hippies” to conduct foreign policy on behalf of us. Democracy ensures that we have members of parliament (or whatever it is called in each country) to do that on our behalf (however good or bad they might be)

Rewiev

I have just been looking trough all my postings on the blog.

That raises a few questions.

Why does a man with a vocabulary the size of mine, write that bad? (My Danish teacher at grammar school would shake her head in disbelief)

Why don't I write more often?

I think the answer to these two questions is correlated.

I write with passion!

I really would like to have the ability to write, if not on a daily basis, then at least a few times a week.

Writing on a daily basis is not an ability one could argue. But I think it is because, that would mean that I would have to write about my daily life, ordinary boring things from my ordinary boring daily life. And that- that I cannot!
Martin Bliddal master this, and that to an extend, that I really enjoy his writing, and I learn, or refelct(some times both) while reading his thoughts. (Danish text: http://www.martin-bliddal.dk/ )

I have tried - and I have tried more than once. It does not lead to anything.
When I write something, and it actually ends up with a blog post, it is because I am passionate!

Passionate in the sense that I have an interest in the subject

Passionate in the sense that I am worried, angry, indignant, with regard to the subject.

This passion leads to me being very anxious, while writing I just have to get it out!

Out of my system.

Out to a public (however small it might be)

That again leads to a less than perfect disposition. There is a start and a point, but the argumentation, and build up to the point… That I have seen better, and done better in other contexts.

At first I thought, "you will have to rewrite all the postings", build them up next to perfect, make sure that it would be an esthetic pleasure to read my blog.

But hell no!

It would lose its passion, and it’s the passion that drives the writing!
Bottom line - you will have to live with the bad disposition, and the flaws there are and will come.

Missed my target...

I've been looking at my blog statistics, and actualy the US is where most of the readers seem to come from.
That must be a problem, given that the blog is in Danish..
The natual reaction to this challenge, is to change from danish to english, and that is what I intend to do.

The blog is primarily concerned with motorcycling and national (Danish) politics. I will translate postings that I think could have interest for readers beyond my few danish readers.

So welcome you international readers.

My profile states the following:
//
I have advertisements on my blog ..

This offers no significant profit. The purpose is, no question, that I do not need to monetize from the blog.
What I get out of it, is that I can see how many (or more likely how few) who reads my blog.
When and if the money arising from the advertising, comes to payment, they go entirely to "Julemærkehjemmet in Hobro". (NGO that helps first and foremost malnourished kids that have social problems in school.)

About me:

I am programme director at University City College Nordjylland, Department of Industry;
The department holds three programmes
Academy Profession Degree Programme in Chemical and Biotechnical Science.
Academy profession Degree Programme in Production Technology
Bachelor programme in product development & technology integration

Rapport: WHO er synderen
Det var verdenssundhedsorganisationen WHO, der udråbte influenza A til at være en pandemi - og netop WHO bliver i rapporten kritiseret for at have overdrevet alvoren ved influenza A.

WHO bliver desuden kritiseret for at have brugt sundhedseksperter, som var på lønningslisten hos medicinalvirksomheder, der leverede vaccine mod netop influenza A.

HVAD SAGDE JEG?!!

Left the wastelands – sat my pace
Cross the border - to another place
Drawn by faces - far away
Just to ride my bike - to the end of the day

By Me
